Dear Parents

We are pleased to let you know that we will be having a visit from Wildside Encounters on Tuesday 25th June from 9.30am-12.00pm.

We will be able to meet some of the different animals (such as snakes, frogs and bugs) and learn all about them. This is a great learning opportunity for the children to see and touch the animals up close.

We would like to ask you for a contribution of £3.50 per child to help cover the cost of the visit. Your child is welcome to attend the visit even if they don’t usually come on a Tuesday but you will have to stay too.

Please complete the form below and return with your contribution in a named envelope.

Many thanks

Sara and the Little Stars team

Dear Parents / Carers,

We are delighted to be going on our annual trip to Foundry Wood, Leamington on Monday 8th July. We will be doing a bear hunt activity with the Foundry Wood staff as the children are enjoying this story. Please meet us at the woods (near the tip and Morrisons) at the gate entrance which should be open for us at 9.45am. Our session starts at 10.00 am. Please bring a packed lunch, drinks, bottled water and blanket so we can eat our picnic lunch together in the woods. You could also bring your teddy bear so we can have a teddy bears’ picnic lunch. There is a new play area there too. We will finish at 1.00 pm. We would like each parent to accompany their child if possible. If you are unable to stay with your child please let us know, staff can accompany some of the children.

All children are invited, even those who do not normally attend on a Monday.  Siblings are also welcome to attend and buggies can be brought into the woodland.

Children should, if possible, wear wellington boots or trainers and long trousers & long sleeved tops whatever the weather. This will protect them in the woodland and mean they can avoid getting stung. They should also wear a couple of layers of clothes (eg a, t-shirt, long sleeved top and a waterproof jacket) this will mean they are comfortable and warm in all weather. Insect repellent may also be a good idea to protect from any bites.

For children who normally stay for the afternoon session, you need to let us know if you want us to take them back to Little Stars at 1pm to play until normal collection time of 3.15pm. If we have to take a lot of children back we may need some help to walk / pushchair them back as our walking ratios are 1 adult to 2 children.

Please complete the slip overleaf giving permission for your child to attend. Foundry Wood have increased their charge this year so we would appreciate a donation of £3.00 per child please. You can see the Woodland at http://www.foundrywood.co.uk

Please let me know if you have any questions about the trip, we are happy to help you.

It will be such a fun trip.

Dear Parents and carers

We have had a fab, short half term. We have really been enjoying our investigating how things work topic. Some highlights included; digging dinosaurs out of plaster of paris, magnet play and lots of building and making.

Next term we will start off looking at jungles, safari and exploring; hot countries and wild animals. The children have enjoyed pretending to be dinosaurs so much that we thought we would extend to animal jungle play.

The next and final term will be a busy one. We have a visit from Wildside Encounters on Tuesday 25th June, they will bring snakes, insects and frogs for us to hold. The cost will be £3.50 per child, more details to follow.

We are planning a trip on Monday 8th July to Foundry Wood in the morning. We will stay and eat our lunch there and return to Little Stars for our afternoon session. More information will be sent out soon and the cost will be approximately £3 each.

Family Fun day – change of date

The Church family fun day has moved to Sunday 7th July. There will be an all age service at 10.30am where the children will sing. This will be followed by a large informal picnic for lunch then afternoon games. Please put the date in your diary.
